Littelfuse Introduces SPxxR6 TVS Diode Arrays

Littelfuse announces the new SP33R6, a family of quad, low capacitance (0.2pF) TVS diode arrays. These powerful diodes provide extremely low breakdown/on voltages and are ideal protectors for low voltage (-0.3 to +0.3V) high speed data lines. It can safely absorb repeated ESD discharges higher than the highest level (level 4, ±8kV contact discharge) specified by the IEC61000-4-2 international standard without performance degradation.

SPxxR6 TVS diode arrays are ideal for a variety of data communication interfaces in consumer electronics, including:

● USB 3.2 and 4.0,

● Thunderbolt 3.0 and 4.0,

● PCI Express 6.0.

"USB 4.0 vendors' chipsets are known to be particularly vulnerable to voltages in excess of 3.3V," said Zhu Jia, product marketing manager for diode arrays at Littelfuse. "The SP33R6 and SP00R6 TVS diode array series are designed to protect high-speed The protection of the interface from repeated ESD strikes provides a special solution.”

Jia also added, "Using a multi-wire package size (SP33R6) or 0201-package (SP00R6) that may already be on the board, design engineers can obtain a pass-through voltage that is ten times lower than existing solutions on the market today."

SPxxR6 has the following key advantages:

● Complies with numerous IEC standards for ESD suppression and lightning surge protection, including IEC 61000-4-2, ±12kV contact discharge, ±15kV air discharge; surge tolerance, 3A (8/20μs) IEC 61000-4-5 Section 2 edition.

● Provides four channels, each I/O has a low capacitance of 0.2pF, which can protect the ultra-high-speed interface.

● Environmentally friendly components, halogen-free, lead-free, and RoHS compliant.
