Littelfuse Introduces New Pxxx0S3N SIDACtor Protection Thyristor Family

     Littelfuse, Inc announces a new family of Pxxx0S3N SIDACtor® protection thyristors that protect exposed interfaces including RS-485 data interfaces and AC/DC power supplies in industrial and ICT applications. Protects equipment from severe transient overvoltages in harsh environments, helping designers meet regulatory requirements.

     The Pxxx0S3N SIDACtor family is housed in a compact DO-214AB (SMC) package and is designed to provide 3kA (8/20) high power surge protection during prolonged overvoltage with reduced heat build-up. An important advantage of Pxxx0S3N is that its switching voltage (VS) is much lower than gas discharge tube (GDT), and its on-state voltage (VT) is much lower than varistor (MOV) and transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diodes.

     The Pxxx0S3N is ideal for a variety of applications where hazardous environments are present, including: DC and AC power lines in factory automation, industrial/ICT applications, power interfaces for energy storage systems (ESS), solar system DC/AC inverters, UPS /AC high power distribution network, electric vehicle (EV) charging system
