Knowles' AISonic™ Audio Edge Processor IA8201 Audio-Centric OpenDSP Support Accelerates Machine Learning Inference

     The Knowles AISonic Audio Edge Processor IA8201 is a high-performance, ultra-low-power, audio-centric OpenDSP, available in two package options (eWLB and QFN), supporting up to 4 microphones, multiple high-speed interfaces, and GPIO.

     The IA8201 supports voice wake-up processing for low-latency voice UI, noise reduction, context awareness, and accelerated machine learning inference for edge processing of sensor input.

Example use case

●Low-Power Voice Wakeup: Listen for specific OEM keywords to wake up the host processor. Large memory enables multiple stages to be processed on-chip for accurate results.
●Proximity detection: When paired with an ultrasonic-enabled speaker and microphone, detects the distance between the system and an object; can replace the IR-Prox sensor in bezel-less phones.
●Hub: Determines the location of the voice source while blocking out noisy environments and lowering the music to detect voice commands. Also accepts metadata input and overlays the beamformer to focus on objects tracked by the camera.
●Security System: Activated by voice command. Detect glass breakage/smoke alarms, record the direction of noise sources, trigger alarms, and send alarms over a Wi-Fi connection.
●Wireless earbuds: Offers low-power premium wake-on-voice performance, eliminates false-triggered call detection, improves voice quality with advanced beamforming and noise reduction algorithms, and supports local commands, including answer/ignore calls.
