Infineon's new reference board effectively controls rotary refrigerator compressor drivers

     Infineon Technologies has introduced two new reference plates designed specifically for rotary refrigerator compressors, following Infineon's strategy of "from product thinking to system understanding". Both boards are turnkey solutions for low-power compressors that can be easily replicated by customers to create final production application boards. Because the design of the reference board has been tested by the system, the system development time of the developer can be greatly shortened.

     REF_Fridge_D11T_MOS is a ready-use three-phase inverter that includes the iMOTION smart driver IMD111T-6F040 and the 600 V CoolMOS PFD7 superjunction MOSFET IPN60R1K0PFD7S. The board provides an easy-to-use power stage based on the iMOTION smart Drive, which combines a ready-to-use FOC motor control algorithm with a 600 V gate driver in the LQFP-40 package. It also includes discrete CoolMOS superjunction MOSFETs with the lowest Qrr, ESD protection and compact SOT-223 Surface Mount Device (SMD) package. The board is easily connected via the iMOTION Link and achieves optimal light-load efficiency and compact design.

     The reference design kit REF_Fridge_C101T_IM231 is ideal for customers looking for greater integration and smaller sizes. The board combines the digital Motor Control IC (iMOTION) IMC101T-T038 with A three-phase CIPOS™ Micro smart power module based on a 6 A, 600 V IGBT. This combination provides a full-featured compact inverter solution for low-power motor drive applications. In addition, it is able to reduce the BOM number and reduce the PCB size, thus improving reliability.
