Infineon introduces the new isolated EiceDRIVER™ 2L-SRC compact gate driver

The pursuit of maximum efficiency is a key requirement for today's power electronics, and Infineon Technologies AG has introduced the latest isolated EiceDRIVER™ 2L-SRC Compact (1ED32xx) gate driver family. The series features an 8 mm wide-body package to ensure a simple design while integrating two-stage pressure swing rate control, which significantly increases system efficiency.

The pursuit of maximum efficiency is a key requirement in today's power electronics, and Infineon Technologies has introduced the latest isolated EiceDRIVER™ 2L-SRC Compact (1ED32xx) gate driver family. The series features an 8 mm wide-body package to ensure a simple design while integrating two-stage pressure swing rate control, which significantly increases system efficiency. With high voltage and high safety, the series is suitable for applications with demanding isolation requirements, such as 1700 V industrial motor drives. In addition, it is ideal for applications such as solar energy systems, uninterruptible power supplies and electric vehicle charging.

The 1ED32xx series optimizes the grid driver circuit. While reducing dv/dt and electromagnetic interference (EMI) during start-up and light load operation, the switching loss during high load operation is minimized, and the voltage swing rate can be dynamically adjusted during operation to optimize the system output power without changing the BOM and without affecting EMI behavior.

The grid driver family offers 10 A and 18 A drive currents. It has a Miller clamp that is ideal for use with power switches that use 0 V off to avoid parasitic conduction; At the same time, it has a rated voltage of up to 2300 V and supports power switches that far exceed the blocking voltage of 1200 V. In addition, UL 1577 and VDE 0884-11 (Enhanced Isolation) certifications ensure superior application safety and guarantee a long service life.
