Infineon Technologies introduces the 1200 V 15 A Integrated Power Module (IPM) in a rotating mold package. The CIPOS™ Maxi IPM IM818-LCC is a new addition to the existing IM818 family that integrates an optimized 6-channel 1200V SOI gate driver and six TRECHSTOP™ IGBTs to improve system reliability and optimize PCB size and system cost. The IM818-LCC breaks new ground on the power density level, offering a power rating of 1200 V 15A up to 3.0 kW.
The IPM is packaged as DIP 36x23D. This makes it the smallest 1200V IPM package with the highest power density and best performance in its class. The IM818 series offers full-featured, compact inverter solutions with good heat transfer. It is particularly suitable for low-power motor driven applications such as fans, pumps and outdoor fans for heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
The IM818 series offers an isolated dual-in-line rotary mold package with excellent thermal performance and electrical isolation. It meets the demanding design requirements of electromagnetic interference and overload protection. The IM818 series integrates a rugged 6-channel SOI gate driver that provides built-in dead time to prevent transient damage.
It features all channel undervoltage lock and overcurrent shutdown protection. With its versatile pins, this IPM offers high design flexibility for different applications. In addition to protection, the IPM is equipped with an independent UL-certified temperature thermistor. The emitter pin can be used for all phase current monitoring, making the application system easy to control.
