Infineon has partnered with Aurora Labs to improve car driving safety

     At CES 2024, Infineon Technologies AG and Aurora Labs announced a new set of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions that improve the long-term reliability and safety of critical automotive components such as steering, braking and airbags. The joint solution combines AuroraLabs' award-winning Line-of-Code Intelligence™ (LOCI) AI technology with Infineon's 32-bit TriCore AURIX™ TC4x family of microcontrollers (MCUS). Helping automakers make safer and more reliable vehicles and improve performance throughout the vehicle's life cycle.

     Zohar Fox, CEO and co-founder of Aurora Labs, said: "This new solution from our two companies enables AI-powered automated processes to be applied across the entire automotive software lifecycle, promising a safer driving experience for automakers. The solution supports real-time monitoring and response to software failures at the MCU and ECU levels, as required by WP29, and helps prevent malicious attacks and hardware security failures through protected application and over-the-air (OTA) technology. Together with Infineon, we use the power of AI to enable predictive safety maintenance and optimize the driving experience. "Our solution simplifies the lines of software development code and hardware peripheral resolution for original equipment manufacturers (Oems), enabling them to develop more secure and ASIL-D-compliant systems."

     This new solution enables real-time functional safety and information security with Infineon's proven AURIX TC4x family of MCUS. This family of MCUS is specifically designed for next-generation electric vehicles, Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automotive electronics and electrical (E/E) architectures, and economical AI applications. Aurora Labs has implemented AI and machine learning (ML) -based capabilities in the AURIX TC4x PPU (Parallel Processing Unit). A PPU is a dedicated AI accelerator that does not share any resources with OEM applications running on the CPU.
