Infineon launches CIPOS Tiny IM323-L6G new smart power module

     Infineon Technologies AG has launched the new product CIPOS Tiny IM323-L6G 600 V 15 A, further expanding its product lineup of the CIPOS Tiny Intelligent Power Module (IPM) series. This new IPM features TRENCHSTOP RC-D2 IGBT power switching devices and advanced SOI gate drive technology to maximize efficiency and achieve higher reliability while minimizing form factor and system cost . The all-in-one package of discrete power semiconductors and drivers allows designers to save time and effort on product design, resulting in significantly faster time-to-market. This module can be used for the drive of major household appliances, especially room air conditioners.

     The CIPOSTM Tiny IM323-L6G is optimized for three-phase inverters up to 1.2 kW and switching frequency range 1-20 kHz. The device utilizes advanced 600 V TRENCHSTOP RC-D2 IGBT technology with an integrated diode on the IGBT and a maximum operating junction temperature of 175 ºC. In addition, this new IPM is also equipped with a new robust C5 SOI gate driver, which can calmly cope with negative voltage spikes at the motor output, ensuring a short-circuit resistance of at least 3 µs, and improving self-protection and safety under faults . This IPM prevents cross-conduction and turns off all switches during overcurrent and undervoltage conditions.

     The IM323-L6G is housed in a robust and leaded 33 x 19 mm2 DIP package with a built-in NTC thermistor, providing a high degree of flexibility in structural design. It comes in a package with better robustness and thus higher reliability. The module also uses the latest power switching devices and gate drive technology to achieve extremely good performance. In addition, Infineon's own front-end and back-end factories carry out production, which also ensures the stability of supply.
