High-quality optoelectronic devices for circuit safety isolation

     Würth Electronics has expanded the company's optoelectronic product line with optocouplers in all common packages and CTR (current transfer ratio) values. Includes WL-OCPT phototransistor type in DIP-4, SOP-4 and LSOP-4 packages, and WL-OCDA Darlington structure in DIP-4 and SOP-4 packages. Different packages also contain a range of leadframe varieties. Depending on the Binning classification, components can have CTR values ranging from 20% to 15,000%. In addition, the DIN EN 60747-5-5 certified components have an operating temperature range from -55°C to +110°C.

     In many applications, the isolation of low-power control circuits from high-power circuits is an important safety issue. Optocouplers protect against disturbances and overvoltages in applications such as power supplies, chargers, computers, microprocessors, sequencers, programmable logic controllers, measurement equipment, and more. When designing the optocoupler, Würth Electronics chose a coplanar structure with a constant isolation gap, which ensures isolation voltages up to 5000 V.

     High-quality silicone and polymer materials achieve 100% internal reflection, ensuring a stable CTR over the entire temperature range. Optocouplers from Würth Electronics achieve fast switching and high DC transfer ratios even when driven at low currents. The copper lead frame ensures excellent solderability and reliable assembly.
