Analog Devices' LT3154 High Performance Step-boost DC/DC converter is a 6A low noise, high efficiency, high current, step-boost DC/DC converter that operates from an input voltage above, below, or equal to the regulated output voltage. Is a simple solution that requires minimal external components. The advanced topology provides continuous transmission through operational modes.

VIN operation from 1.8V to 5.5V provides the flexibility of a variety of power supplies and the output voltage is adjustable between 1.8V and 5.5V. Packaged in a heat-enhanced 3mm2 x 0.75mm, 16-pin LQFN package, the LT3154 can be configured to run from a 2.2MHz internal oscillator to reduce external components. Oscillators offer programming between 400 KHZ and 4MHz to optimize applications for high efficiency or small footprint.

In the case of noise sensitive circuits, the oscillator can be synchronized with an external clock. The optional burst mode operation reduces the static current to 15μA, ensuring high efficiency across the load range. The VIN startup threshold (UVLO) can be adjusted for various input sources. Internal or external programmable soft start limits surge flow during startup. Other features include < 1μA stop current, short circuit protection, thermal overload protection
