HNu Photonics uses FLIR Blackfly machine vision camera to study the effects of spaceflight on human physiology

     HNu Photonics is a leading developer of air and ground hardware in aerospace and defense. HNu Photonics' SCORPIO-V division, in collaboration with NASA, is using Teledyne FLIR's machine vision cameras to better understand how spaceflight and microgravity affect the human body at the cellular level.

     NASA's Human Research Program (HRP) has spent the past 50 years studying how the human body changes in space. The conditions encountered during space travel, whether space radiation or changes in the gravitational field, can have long-term and potentially dangerous effects on the human body's physiology.

     As part of a contract with NASA, HNu Photonics is working to provide a variety of microscopy solutions for use on the International Space Station (ISS). The researchers will use what they've learned from their microscopy experiments to design new devices and strategies to help astronauts stay healthy during their missions and long after.
