Flex introduces 1100W brick DC/DC power module

     Flex introduces the BMR492 Series of brick DC/DC power modules that deliver 600 to 800W of continuous power. 800W converters in < Up to 1100 W of peak power for a short period of 1 s. Cpus in data communications and data center applications often require this burst mode operation.

     The first member of the BMR492 series of digital intermediate bus converters is the BMR4920302/861. The BMR4920302/861 is rated at 600 W/50 A and provides a stable 12V output, adjustable between 8V and 13.2V via the PMBus interface. The unit accepts input voltages from 40 to 60V and achieves peak efficiency of 96.7% at 48 VIN and half load. The isolation between input and output is 1500 VDC.

     Other models to be launched later this year include a 700 W / 10.4 V converter capable of delivering up to 950 W peak power and an 800W / 12 V product capable of delivering up to 1100 W peak power. Both models increase efficiency to 97.4 percent.

     The substrate converters are available in an industry-standard 1/8 brick format, measuring 58.4 x 22.7 x 12.7 mm, with standard DOSA pin assignments, including 7-pin digital connectors for PMBus interfaces. The BMR492 series equipment can operate in the temperature range from -40°C to + 125°C and has an average trouble-free operating time of more than 6 million hours.
