Flex Power Modules Introduces SIP-7 DC/DC Converters for Gate Drive Power Applications

     Flex Power Modules has introduced the PUC-D2BG series of 2W DC/DC converters in an industry standard SIP-7 format package, through-hole. The family includes nominal 12V, 15V, and 24V input voltages, as well as optional dual, unregulated output voltages for asymmetric positive and negative gate drive voltages in a wide variety of semiconductor switches, including IGBT, GaN, silicon, and Silicon Carbide MOSFETS (Metal Oxide Half Field Effect Transistor).

Unlike many similar products on the market, the PUC-D2BG series has a 6kVDC isolation voltage, as well as reinforced insulation for 250VAC working voltage and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety certification.

     The PUC-D2BG series is ideal for isolated "high-side" gate drive power supplies and has low isolation capacitance, typically less than 6pF, making it immune to the high dV// Excessive circulating current at dt.

     The product is rated for use from -40°C to +100°C ambient temperature (with power derating) and can be used at full power at +85°C in a convection cooled environment. This performance is achieved by an efficient design that achieves a typical efficiency of 80%. The product has no minimum load requirements and can provide continuous short circuit protection.
