Flex Power Modules Introduces BMR510 Two-Phase Voltage Regulation Module

     Flex Power Modules announces its first two-phase voltage regulation module, the BMR510, which has a continuous total output current of 80A; 4.5 to 16V input and 0.5 to 1.3V output, which can output a total of 140A of peak current. Including the magnetics, the module measures less than 0.7 cm3 (10 x 9 x 7.6 mm) and provides a complete power stage circuit for high specification voltage regulation modules in space-constrained applications, including CPUs , GPU, IPU, high-end FPGA and high-performance ASIC chips, these scenarios are common in the latest artificial intelligence (AI) applications, and their current requirements will exceed 100A.

     The BMR510 is a halogen-free product with an optimized structural design for top-side heat dissipation applications, and its LGA and optional solder bump terminal packages facilitate solder assembly. The BMR510 integrates over-temperature and over-current protection and provides sampling of current and temperature values for remote monitoring. The BMR510 has an enable input, and the module also accepts tri-state PWM inputs.

     Flex Power Modules provides thermal simulation models of the BMR510 for more efficient product integration into target applications. The BMR510 will be in production in the first quarter of 2022 and samples are available now.

     The two-phase BMR510 will be the first of many new voltage regulation module offerings from Flex Power Modules. Future products will offer multiple phase totals, different output currents and packages to support current and next-generation CPU and GPU applications.
