Flex Introduces PKU4116HD Series 1/16 Brick DC/DC Converters for RFPA and PoE Applications

     Flex Power Modules announces the PKU4116HD DC/DC Converter with Through-Hole Mounting Holes, featuring 36 to 60V input (80V peak) and fully regulated 55V output in an open frame module in an industry standard 1/16th brick package (33.02mm x 22.86mm x 9.8mm), the rated output power is 110W/2A, the maximum allowable ambient temperature for full-load output under natural convection is 50°C, and under air cooling conditions, the allowable maximum ambient temperature can be as high as 85°C. The excellent thermal performance of the PKU4116HD also allows the module to be de-rated at 100°C, and the module is highly efficient, typically 92.4% at full load at 48Vin. The modules are based on proven and mature technologies that provide high reliability at an attractive price.

     The PKU4116HD features monotonic start-up to pre-biased loads, remote control, and protections against over temperature, input undervoltage, output overvoltage, and overcurrent. Standby power is typically 0.5W.

     The input/output isolation of the new product is 2250VDC, which meets the requirements of IEC/EN/UL 62368-1. Its 55V output voltage is ideal for applications such as Power over Ethernet and RF power amplifier power supplies in microwave radio systems and small cell base stations. Conducted electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements according to EN 55022/32, CISPR 22 and FCC part 15J can be easily met with a simple external filter circuit.

     The PKU4116HD is suitable for through-hole reflow soldering to facilitate automated assembly.
