Excelitas Technologies introduces the X-Cite XYLIS II broad spectrum LED lighting system for fluorescence microscopy

As a replacement for the current X-Cite XYLIS, the XYLIS II features several improvements, including significantly reduced operating noise, improved optical output, and the widest spectrum of white leds for fluorescence microscopy applications. The launch of XYLIS II comes as Eselida celebrates the 20th anniversary of the X-Cite product brand, which has grown to become the standard in the fluorescent lighting industry.

     The brightness of the XYLIS II is comparable to that of conventional arc lamps and is ideal for composite and stereo microscopes. It uses Ethelida's patented and award-winning LaserLED HybridDrive technology to overcome the green gap challenge that occurs in pure LED systems in the 540nm to 590nm spectral region. The XYLIS II's powerful output and broad spectral range from DAPI to Cy7 offer researchers and microscopy lab managers the benefits of leds without compromising on price, flexibility or performance. The XYLIS II uses the same speedDIAL, light tube, adapter, and instruction set as the original XYLIS, allowing for a smooth transition between the two systems.
