Diodes introduces the AP22653Q programmable current-limiting power switchers

     Diodes Corporation introduces the AP22653Q programmable current-limiting power switchers. This automotion-compliant device simplifies power system design while ensuring durability, providing a controlled and protected power path. It is rated for continuous load current up to 1.5A. The main product applications include the protection of vehicle USB ports and ECU power rails, as well as infotainment and telecommunication subsystems.

     The AP22653Q has a strict accuracy margin of ±7% at high current levels, and with an external resistor of standard value, the current limiting threshold can be easily set at any point between 125mA and 1735mA. The device's controlled ascent and descent times help mitigate the effects of surges during opening/closing. In addition, its 5μs short-circuit response helps avoid situations that require system shutdown/restart.

     The AP22653Q has an on-resistance of 55 Mω (typical), significantly reducing power loss and voltage drop at high load currents. The reverse current protection integrated into the device prevents the reverse current from being generated when external power is supplied to peripheral devices. There are also overheat protection and undervoltage locking functions. Supports the operating temperature range from -40°C to 125°C.

     The AP22653Q power switchers are AEC-Q100 Grade 1 compliant and can be manufactured in IATF 16949 certified production facilities and are PPAP compliant. The product comes in a compact SOT26 package.
