Diodes introduces non-isolated offline switcher with low standby power

      Diodes Incorporated (Diodes) further strengthens its power supply portfolio with the introduction of general-purpose AC high voltage input non-isolated offline switcher ICs. The AP3928 addresses the challenges associated with using biased power supplies. This product provides safe and reliable power while maintaining high performance figures with significant cost savings. This switcher IC provides optimized performance for applications requiring higher power levels, such as industrial control or home automation systems, home appliances and IoT devices

     The AP3928 has a maximum output current of 600mA and can achieve a rated output power of 10W. A key differentiator for this high-voltage switcher IC is its ability to support traditional offline non-isolated flyback configurations, as well as a more streamlined non-isolated buck configuration to minimize bill of materials (BOM) costs.

     The peak current and switching frequency will continue to decrease as the load decreases, which means that the device can achieve higher efficiency at light load conditions. Therefore, this product is ideal for use with any device type that is in sleep mode for extended periods of time.

     Another important feature of the AP3928 is its low standby power of less than 30mW, which is especially important for small appliances and IoT devices that need to conserve available battery power.

     DIODES™'s AP3928 switcher IC is available in a compact SO-8 package. For safety, this product meets high voltage leakage requirements and can support operating junction temperatures up to +150°C. In addition, overtemperature, output short circuit, overload and open loop protection, and undervoltage lockout are included.
