Diodes Synchronous rectifiers provide portable electronic chargers with high integration and high efficiency

     Diodes Incorporated introduces two synchronous rectifiers, the APR3415 and the APR34330, to meet market demands for greater integration and efficiency in portable chargers. The new device combines the driver circuit with the internal MOSFETs to provide an affordable rectification solution with low power consumption and a reduced number of external components. Their target applications include adapters and chargers for mobile phones and cordless phones, ADSL modulators, MP3 players, and other portable consumer products and home appliances.

     The APR3415 and APR34330 are synchronous rectifier converters suitable for 5V output voltages operating in intermittent conduction mode. Their synchronous rectification function can reduce the power consumption of the secondary side; The ability to sense the MOSFET drain-source voltage allows the design to optimize the drive signal with fewer external components. Its internal N-channel MOSFETs are optimized for low gate charge, low on-resistance, fast switching, and reverse recovery time, effectively accelerating response to secondary side voltages and improving the transient performance of the primary side control system.

     The APR3415 in the standard SO-8 package is designed to require output currents up to 2A, and the APR34330 in the SO-8EP package with A cooling pad is designed to require output currents up to 1.5A. Both devices have overvoltage protection and VCC undervoltage blocking features that are rarely available in similar products from other manufacturers. These features not only ensure the safety and reliability of the system, but also make the device suitable for a wider range of applications such as backup and auxiliary power supplies.
