Diodes Incorporated Introduces 8-Channel ReDriver With Internal Coupling Capacitors

     Diodes Incorporated announces the addition of a new addition to its large line of linear ReDriver ICs. The PI3UPI1608 helps to significantly extend PCB trace lengths and minimize power consumption and associated bill of materials costs.

     Compliant with UPI 2.0 and PCIe® 4.0 standards, the device has eight differential lanes and supports data transfer speeds of up to 20Gbps. The built-in coupling capacitors save significant board space by eliminating the need for external components. The main product application projects are artificial intelligence servers, data storage devices, 5G network infrastructure and high-performance PCs, as well as CPU-to-CPU and CPU-to-storage interconnections.

     The PI3UPI1608 ReDriver compensates for transmitter channel loss, improves receiver signal integrity, and is optimized for high-performance systems operating at high frequencies. The PI3UPI1608 ReDriver IC operates from a 3.3V power supply and has an operating temperature range of -40˚C to +85˚C. Available in a 116-pin QFN package (13mm x 7mm).

     The PI3UPI1608 features programmable linear equalization, output amplitude, and flat gain capabilities to reduce bit error rate (BER) and reduce inter-symbol interference (ISI), extending channel coverage over a variety of physical media. Programmability is achieved through pin settings and an I2C interface.
