Diodes Incorporated introduces a new regulator, the ZXTR2105F, which integrates transistors, Zener diodes and resistors in a single chip to provide 5V 15mA outputs with inputs up to 60V. The compact SOT-23 package reduces the number of components and saves printed circuit board area for microcontroller applications, such as DC cooling fans for personal computers and servers, as well as motor drives, exhaust fans and sensor applications in the industrial and automotive markets.
Designed to replace three discrete components, the ZXTR2105F minimizes the size of the solution and increases the power density and reliability of the system when typically used to generate a stable power supply between 4.7V and 5.3V from 12V or 24V inputs. The device's input rating is up to 60V, ensuring adequate headroom in the event of transient overvoltage. Superior linearity and load regulation helps to further increase system reliability by keeping the device in continuous operation by preventing transient voltage drops from causing lockouts.
