Diodes introduces AP22653Q programmable Current-limiting power switcher. This automotive compliant device simplifies power system design while ensuring durability and providing a controlled and protected power path. It is rated for continuous load currents up to 1.5A. The main product applications include protection of vehicle USB ports and ECU power supply rails, as well as infotainment and telematics subsystems.

Diodes Corporation introduces the AP22653Q programmable current-limiting power switch. This automotive-qualified unit simplifies power system design while ensuring durability and a controlled and protected power path. Its rated continuous load current is up to 1.5A. Key product applications are protecting vehicle USB ports and ECU power rails, as well as infotainment and telematics subsystems.

The AP22653Q has a tight accuracy margin of ±7% at high current levels, and the use of standard value external resistors makes it easy to set the current limit threshold anywhere between 125mA and 1735mA. The unit's controlled rise and fall times help mitigate the effects of surges during turn-on/turn-off. Additionally, its 5µs short-circuit response helps avoid situations that require a system shutdown/restart.

The on-resistance of the AP22653Q is 55mΩ (typ), which greatly reduces power loss and voltage drop at high load currents. Reverse current protection integrated in this device prevents reverse current flow when externally powered to peripheral devices. There are also over-temperature protection and under-voltage lockout. An operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C is supported.

The AP22653Q power switch is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified, can be manufactured in an IATF 16949 certified production facility, and is PPAP compliant. This product is available in a small SOT26 package.
