     SiTime's universal low power oscillator is custom-programmable with a digital key. Production quantities are available for purchase within 48 hours. The custom programming capability shortens the engineer's design cycle, allowing it to get to market faster. These oscillators offer a perfect combination of low power consumption, excellent stability, small size, and fast startup. Also available is a SOT23 package that provides excellent plate-level solder joint reliability and enables low-cost, optical plate-only inspection.

     Now system designers have low frequency options based on programmable MEMS timing technology. The technology is ideal for industrial sensor applications due to its low frequency range, low power consumption and ability to resist radio frequency interference (RFI) and mechanical stress sources.

     Traditionally, system designers have had to choose from very few frequency options if they wished to output frequencies below megahertz. In conventional quartz devices, crystal resonators cut out of blank material to specific sizes, angles, and shapes to achieve each frequency. Due to manufacturing constraints, quartz suppliers choose a limited number of frequencies to support, especially in the lower frequency range.

     MEMS technology provides robustness against shock, vibration and RF interference. The reason for the resistance to mechanical force is the miniaturization of MEMS. MEMS resonators are 500 to 3,000 times less massive than quartz resonators.
