Daimler Trucks deploys Siemens Xcelerator to explore 'carbon neutrality' in transportation

      Siemens Digital Industries Software announced that Daimler Trucks has used Siemens' Simcenter™ STAR-CCM+™ software for the development of its next generation of "carbon neutral" vehicles. As part of Siemens' Xcelerator solutions portfolio, Simcenter will provide Daimler Trucks with a leading computational fluid dynamics (CFD) solution to transform its CAE development process into a digital twin-driven multiphysics environment.

      Daimler Trucks plans to use Simcenter solutions to improve its aerodynamics, explore and optimize innovative e-mobility propulsion and energy management systems such as battery cooling and hydrogen technology. In addition, Simcenter will support Daimler Trucks' original internal combustion engine and exhaust system design and related CO2 reduction efforts.

      In addition to the cooperation at the software level, Siemens and Daimler Trucks will work together to train the younger generation of engineers and develop advanced simulation experts to help Daimler Trucks maintain its leading position in the market.
