Brightness hits new high, ams and Osram launch new automotive front lighting LEDs

      Ams Osram will introduce the brightest automotive front lighting LEDs on the market today. ams Osram, the market leader in automotive LEDs, is now sending another strong signal to the industry with the Oslon Black Flat X series. This metal mount-based product offers market-leading brightness and was developed specifically for low beam and high beam solutions in automobiles.

     As new technologies continue to advance and automotive lighting becomes more and more diversified, the further development of LED technology opens up new possibilities. Taking up minimal installation space and delivering outstanding brightness, LED technology gives manufacturers greater flexibility in designing lighting solutions.      This product is surface mountable and can be manufactured directly using the manufacturer's standard production process. In addition to having market-leading brightness (460 lumens at 1 A), the single-chip model is extremely small at 3.75 mm X 3.75 mm. OBF X uses a special QFN platform design, customers can achieve simple thermal management. Depending on the system used, the size of the heatsink can be drastically reduced or even completely eliminated. The Oslon Black Flat X series utilizes a metal standoff construction to achieve lower thermal resistance (Rth) than the ceramic packages commonly used today. Coupled with a special TiO2 sealing coating, the black package of the LED can provide a high contrast ratio of 1:200. In addition, this range of products is able to provide very uniform color at different viewing angles.

     The Oslon Black Flat X series will currently be available in single-chip and dual-chip models. Multiple multi-chip models will be added by mid-2022.
