Bourns announces the CWF1610 and CWF2414 series of chip inductors. These inductors use a wound construction on the ferrite core to provide high inductance values, Q values, and self-resonant frequencies, as well as low DC resistance in a compact size over the operating temperature range of -40 to +125°C.

     Bourns announces the CWF1610 and CWF2414 series of chip inductors. These inductors use a wound construction on the ferrite core to provide high inductance values, Q values, and self-resonant frequencies, as well as low DC resistance in a compact size over the operating temperature range of -40 to +125°C. These features make the series ideal for RF signal processing, resonant circuits, decoupling, noise filters and DC power line applications in audio headsets, cable modems, set-top boxes, hard drives, tablets and various mobile electronic devices.

 

     A thicker winding structure around the core allows for lower DC resistance and high Q values of 13 to 16 in these miniature inductors compared to multilayer or thin-film techniques. In addition, the high Q value provided by the new inductor designs high impedance when the inductor capacitor LC circuit resonates, and low loss when operating at high frequencies.

 

     Bourns models CWF1610 and CWF2414 chip inductors also feature high self-resonant frequencies that translate to low distributed capacitance and maintain inductance characteristics over a wide frequency range. Bourns' new chip inductors have saturation currents up to 860/1100 mA and current ratings up to 700/1300 mA to maintain high inductance at larger peak currents to meet the requirements of DC power line applications.
