Bourns Introduces Two New Automotive Grade Shielded Power Inductors

     Bourns, a leading global manufacturer of electronic components, introduces the SRP7020TA and SRP8540A series of high current shielded power inductors. The new power inductors are designed for electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering and power management in automotive, consumer, industrial, and telecom electronics applications and are AEC-Q200 qualified, which typically require higher inductor reliability. Additionally, the series features shielded construction, metal alloy powder cores, low magnetic field emissions, low humming noise, and a wide operating temperature range of -5 to +150 °C.

     Technology integrated into Bourns SRP7020TA and SRP8540A inductors enables these latest inductors to deliver high saturation currents of 40/60 amps in the 0.1/0.22–10/22 μH inductance range. Bourns has designed a unique metal alloy powder magnetic core, adhesive and molded structure fabrication process that enables a magnetically shielded structure for low radiation, high saturation current, low buzz noise and low DC resistance, while high temperature levels Materials offer an ultra-wide operating temperature range of -55 to +150 °C and excellent temperature stability. Bourns SRP7020TA and SRP8540A inductors fully meet the current demands for high current density, high saturation current, low loss and high operating frequency in next-generation applications in a compact shielded package.
