
Bourns, a world-renowned leading manufacturer of electronic components in the United States, has launched two new automotive-grade high-curent shielded power inductors. This series can enhance mechanical strength even in harsh vibration application environments. The Bourns® SRP1038WA and SRP1265WA Shielded Power Inductor series are designed with wider side terminal leadframes to withstand 15 G standard or 30 G peak vibration, thus exceeding the 5 G required by the AEC-Q200 standard by a factor of three to six, respectively, according to the vibration test MIL-STD-202 method 204 is performed. Both products also feature a compact package, high saturation current, low DC resistance, low buzzer noise, and excellent temperature stability over a wide temperature range of –55 to +165 °C, making this series compliant with AEC- Q200-standard automotive-grade power inductors are ideal for power management and EMI filtering in a variety of consumer, automotive, industrial, and telecom electronics applications.
The width of the side terminal frame can be increased by more than 50% compared to existing models without increasing the package size or required printed circuit board area, adding advanced features to the industry-leading shielded power inductor portfolio. Bourns' new inductor series uses a uniquely formulated metal alloy powder core and binder, and uses a molded structure manufacturing process. The magnetic shielding design reduces magnetic field radiation, and the metal alloy powder core can provide high saturation current. High temperature grade materials A wide operating temperature range for a variety of harsh environment applications can be achieved. These new models have a maximum operating temperature of +165 °C, 10% higher than Bourns® standard SRP-A power inductors, and provide more headroom to maintain rated operation even in challenging environmental conditions current.
Bourns® SRP1038WA and SRP1265WA power inductors are available now, and the full range is RoHS* compliant and halogen free**.
