At present, medical endoscopes are accelerating the transition from reusable to disposable use, and the current epidemic has triggered a large demand for disposable bronchoscopes. Designed for single-use applications, NanEyeM ensures a high degree of sterility and reduces the potential for cross-infection - which is critical for critically ill COVID-19 patients. The small size of 1.0mm x 1.0mm x 2.7mm allows the module to be used in very small Spaces

The structure of NanEyeM

 

The module adopts chip tip mounting technology. In it, the image sensor and optics are placed at the tip (far end) of the device. This makes the image quality significantly better than when the camera module is located at the other end (near end). NanEyeM features a fully integrated imaging module that delivers high-quality images thanks to its integrated wafer-level multiple optical lenses. It is designed for optimal performance at close range. The lens combines wide field of view (FoV) and extended depth of field (DOF) to reduce distortion and create clear and accurate images. Thanks to the digital LVDS serial interface, the camera has a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

 

As a result, it is able to transmit images over long distance cables without loss of signal integrity or increased noise. NanEyeM also boasts a frame rate of up to 49fps (frames per second), enabling smooth, low-latency displays on a variety of standard interfaces while maintaining low power consumption. Image sensors have high pixel sensitivity, which means less lighting is required. This helps control heat from the tip of the device. The module is equipped with an applicable cable, which can be customized according to customer requirements and can be up to 3 meters in length. Its own included cable ensures smooth and seamless integration with the endoscope equipment. LED light source can be supplemented at the tip.

 

NanEyeM saves space and costs

 

NanEyeM's all-digital output saves on the cost of external analog-to-digital conversion (ADC). The module is resistant to magnetic interference (EMI/EMC) of medical devices in a surgical environment without the need for coaxial or shielded cables. Pre-connected cables avoid additional acquisition costs. Using NanEyeM in a disposable endoscope saves a lot of effort and money compared to using a repeatable endoscope. In addition, since they do not need to be sterilized before the next use, they can be used anytime. The module is also designed with mass production elements in mind, thus ensuring not only cost competitiveness, but also scale production.
