Advanced Energy's LCC1200 Series Improves Reliability and Reduces Total System Cost in High Power Industrial Applications

      Advanced Energy Corporation of the United States has launched the Artesyn LCC1200 series of fanless, conduction cooling AC-DC power supplies. The LCC 1200 is the latest addition to Advanced Energy's LCC series, offering up to 1200W of power output and 93.5% efficiency in a compact form factor. These new power supplies are ideal for industrial applications including outdoor LED digital signage, traffic light equipment, industrial lighting, telecom antennas and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions.

     Unlike other power supplies on the market that require output derating above 55°C, the LCC 1200 can maintain its full load capacity of 1200W at a baseplate temperature of -40~85°C without forced air cooling. The LCC 1200 features a power density of 15 W/in3, one of the highest in the industry, allowing customers to save space and reduce total system cost. Active current sharing is supported and up to three units can be operated in parallel to support higher load requirements.

      Measuring just 4.5x11x1.57 inches, the LCC 1200 series is IP 20 and IP 65 rated. The IP65 version is housed in a fully sealed rugged enclosure that keeps dust and water out, making it ideal for fanless outdoor and enclosed industrial applications.

     The LCC 1200 series has a universal 90-264 Vac input and can be used anywhere in the world without adjustment. These power supplies feature a single output of 28 or 24 Vdc with a wide adjustment range and a standby voltage output of 5V. The LCC 1200 series is fully compliant with the international IEC 62368-1 ITE safety standard and is cUL, CE, UKCA and CCC certified. The built-in PMBus™ interface provides flexible and comprehensive digital communication with the ability to control and monitor voltage, current, temperature and report fault conditions. The LCC 1200 has a calculated mean time between failures of over 2 million hours and is backed by a three-year warranty.
