     Microchip Technology's AVR DB family is based on a low-power AVR core, selected world-class Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs), and fully loaded with smart analog products, giving users the freedom to design tomorrow's solutions today. The family features three on-chip operational amplifiers (op amps) for unmatched signal conditioning. With its multi-voltage I/O (MVIO), the AVR DB is the perfect companion microcontroller (MCU) in complex designs with multiple power domains.

     This family of MCUs utilizes on-board CIP and 5 V operating modes to improve noise immunity, while also reducing system latency through the use of a robust event system and configurable custom logic (CCL) peripherals. The MVIOs of the AVR DB series allow true level-shifting bidirectional communication with devices on different power domains. Users can use the AVR DB series for real-time control functions in industrial control, home appliances, automotive, Internet of Things (IoT) and other applications. Microchip's AVR DA MCUs are a good choice for low-latency control applications and capacitive touch user interfaces.

     The AVR DB series is recommended for safety-critical applications for industrial and automotive products (IEC 61508 and ISO 26262). It also offers the MPLAB XC8 Functional Safety Compiler License, a TÜV SÜD certified compiler package supporting 8-bit PIC® and AVR microcontrollers. Documents such as FMEDA reports and safety manuals are available upon request.
