ADI offers ultra-low power MEMS accelerometers for healthcare and industrial applications

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) has introduced a three-axis MEMS accelerometer that can be used in a wide range of healthcare and industrial applications, including vital sign monitoring, hearing AIDS, and motion measurement Devices. Compared with the previous generation device (ADXL362), the ADXL367 accelerometer improves the power consumption by twice, while the noise performance is improved by more than 30%.

(ADI) introduces a three-axis MEMS accelerometer for use in a wide range of healthcare and industrial applications, including devices such as vital signs monitoring, hearing aids, and motion measurement. Compared to the previous generation device (ADXL362), the ADXL367 accelerometer has twice the power consumption while improving noise performance by more than 30%. The new accelerometers also provide longer field usage, maximize battery life, and reduce maintenance frequency and costs.

The ADXL367 consumes only 0.88 µA at 100 Hz output data rate and 180 nA in motion-triggered wake-up mode. Unlike accelerometers that use power duty cycles to achieve low power consumption, the ADXL367 does not alias the input signal by undersampling, but instead samples the entire bandwidth of the sensor at the full data rate.
