ADI introduces long range Industrial Ethernet products to help connect process, factory and building automation

     Analog Devices has introduced long range Industrial Ethernet solutions to expand its ADI Chronous™ Industrial Ethernet product line. The solution provides long distance Ethernet connectivity from the edge to the cloud, supports real-time configurability, and can reduce energy consumption and improve asset utilization.

     The newly launched ADI Chronous product supports the 10BASE-T1L physical layer Ethernet standard to deliver new data streams from edge nodes in remote and hazardous locations in industrial equipment and building facility applications. Now, we can seamlessly access this previously inaccessible data over the web and use it to assess factors such as asset health, raw material usage, and process parameters to make manufacturing cleaner and greener.

     The newly launched ADI Chronous product enables customers to increase control over various building parameters, thereby reducing energy consumption and overall carbon emissions in their buildings. The ADI Chronous ADIN1100 and ADIN1110 Industrial Ethernet solutions can transmit data over 1.7 kilometers or more than 1 mile over a single twisted pair Ethernet cable - a significant increase in distance compared to previous Ethernet standards - helping to reduce size, weight and cost. These cables are lighter and more stretchable than traditional Ethernet cables, and enable reuse of existing cabling infrastructure, reducing commissioning costs and complexity.

     This new industrial Ethernet solution offers two flexible options: MAC PHY and PHY. The MAC PHY (ADIN1110) enables ultra-low power systems that can simplify Ethernet retrofits for field sensors or drives while preserving existing software and processor technology investments. The PHY (ADIN1100) provides a standard Ethernet interface that can be used in more complex designs, such as field switch development or building controllers.
