A new high in brightness, ams launched a new car front light LED

     Ams will unveil the brightest automotive front lighting LED on the market today. Emais Osram, the market leader in automotive leds, is now sending another powerful signal to the industry with the Oslon Black Flat X family. This metal bracket based product offers market leading luminance and has been developed specifically for both close and long light solutions in automobiles.

     As new technologies continue to advance and automotive lighting becomes more diversified, further development of LED technology opens up new possibilities. With minimal installation space and excellent brightness, LED technology gives manufacturers more flexibility in designing lighting solutions. With the debut of two new products in the Oslon Black Flat X family, Emis Osram is once again demonstrating its innovative leadership in automotive lighting."

     The product is surface mount capable and can be manufactured directly using the manufacturer's standard production process. In addition to its market-leading brightness (up to 460 lumens at 1 A), the single-chip model is extremely compact at only 3.75mm X 3.75mm. The OBF X is designed with a special QFN platform that allows customers to manage heat dissipation easily. Depending on the system in use, the size of the heat sink can be drastically reduced or even eliminated altogether. The Black Flat X family uses a metal scaffold structure to achieve lower thermal resistance (Rth) than commonly used ceramic packages on the market today. Coupled with a special TiO2 sealing coating, the LED's black package provides a high contrast ratio of 1:200. In addition, the range is able to provide very uniform colors in different viewing angles.
