The LM3940 is a 1-A low voltage regulator designed to deliver 3.3V from a 5v power supply. The LM3940 is ideal for systems that include both 5v and 3.3v logic, with the main power supplied by the 5v bus. The surface-mounted DDPAK/ To-263 package saves space on the single board and is welded to the copper plane of the PC board for excellent power consumption.

The LM3940 is a 1-A low voltage regulator designed to deliver 3.3V from a 5v power supply. The LM3940 is ideal for systems that include both 5v and 3.3v logic, with the main power supplied by the 5v bus. Because the LM3940 is a true low-drop regulator, it can keep its 3.3V output down to 4.5V while regulating the input.

The LM3940's TO-220 package means that full 1 A load current can be delivered without the use of an additional radiator in most applications. The surface-mounted DDPAK/ To-263 package saves space on the single board and is welded to the copper plane of the PC board for excellent power consumption.
